I think for the most part we all remember the song.  “New York, London, Paris, Munich. Everybody talk about pop muzik.  Talk about pop muzik.”  Circa 1979, the song was performed by the band M.  Front man Robin Scott once said “I was looking to make a fusion of various styles which somehow would summarize the last 25 years of pop music. It was a deliberate point I was trying to make. Whereas rock and roll had created a generation gap, disco was bringing people together on an enormous scale. That’s why I really wanted to make a simple, bland statement, which was, ‘All we’re talking about basically (is) pop music.”

Well let’s talk about it then.  Pop and music, then and now and how it all  still makes quite the damn statement.  The views expressed on this blog are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of my employer.
